Another incident occurred in iNyathi, where an 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

“The suspect persuaded the victim to consume beer before committing the assault”, said Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda.

Meanwhile, in Victoria Falls, police are actively seeking a 28-year-old man named Paida Chatora, who is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Chatora’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in the investigation.

Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda issued a statement urging parents and guardians to provide proper guidance to their juvenile daughters. Banda emphasized the need for vigilance.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police for Matebeleland North would like to advise parents and guardians to properly guide their juvenile girl children so that there is a limit in the recurrence of cases of rape.” she said.

Banda also cautioned against attending night parties without proper supervision, as these gatherings often attract sexual predators preying on vulnerable individuals.
