Renowned Bulawayo entrepreneur Mandlenkosi Dube, widely known by his middle names Garnet Junior, has been nominated for an award at this year’s Megafest National Business Awards.
The 27-year-old business dynamo – successfully juggling music and entrepreneurship – runs two thriving small and medium-sized enterprises: App a Combo, a fast food restaurant, and Garnet’s Place, a cozy Bed and Breakfast lodging facility. These ventures earned him the coveted nomination.
Dube, in an interview with Skyz Metro FM, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, highlighting its motivational impact for him as a young professional striving to solidify his footprint in the business world.
“This nomination truly humbles and inspires me,” he acknowledged.
“It can be easy to get discouraged when navigating the entrepreneurial journey, but this recognition reminds me that someone out there sees our efforts and considers them worthy of such esteemed acknowledgment.”
“Winning the ‘National Young Executive of the Year’ award would be incredible, but honestly, just being nominated feels like a victory in itself,” Dube added with genuine humility.
He further shared his aspirations for wider recognition within the business community.
Megafest boasts a rich history as a passionate advocate for ethical and exemplary business practices, celebrating remarkable achievements across the nation. In its 15-year journey, it has established itself as one of the foremost and prestigious awards bodies in the Zimbabwean business landscape.
