Chief Dakamela to honor Nkayi community uplifters in awards ceremony

Chief Dakamela of Nkayi District in Matebeleland North is set to honor outstanding individuals who have made a positive contribution to the Nkayi Community and Matebeleland region as a whole in the upcoming Chief Dakamela awards ceremony slated for this coming April.

The Chief Dakamela Awards ceremony will not be a competitive awards event but an appreciation awards ceremony which seeks to recognise different individuals who have made a telling contribution in Matebeleland region.

Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, Awards organiser Chief Dakamela of Nkayi District said that the awards ceremony will play a a critical role in the community.

“The awards ceremony will play a pirvotal role in honoring people who have contributed to the community and Matebeleland as a whole, also bringing positive developments and raising awareness of the projects that are currently being undertaken in the region”, he said.

One of the individuals who is set to be honored for his role in the development of Nkayi District, Blessing Karubwa expressed gratitude.

“It is with great honor to receive such a recognition from a respected figure which will come as a motivation in the works that l am going to conduct going forward”, he said.

The Chief Dakamela awards are set to be changed to Matebeleland awards and will be held in different venues with its organiser aiming them to be held in different places which include Gwanda, Lupane,Matobo, Tsholotsho and Bulawayo in the coming years.
