Nicoz Diamond Launches Mobile Insurance Vehicle, Supporting Green Initiatives

Nicozdiamond, a subsidiary of First Mutual Holdings, has launched a “Diamond Insurance Vehicle” (DIV) to bring insurance services directly to customers.

This initiative aligns with the Zimbabwean government’s efforts to digitize and promote a green economy as envisioned in Vision 2030.

The DIV is an all-inclusive mobile unit offering motor vehicle insurance, Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) licensing, and Zimbabwe Broadcasting Commission (ZBC) licensing services at customers’ doorsteps.

Speaking in an interview with Skyz Metro FM’s news crew, Nicozdiamond Business Development Manager, Mr. Thabiso Takaza said the state-of-the-art DIV is solar-powered and equipped with advanced technology. This eco-friendly approach complements the government’s push to reduce carbon footprint and transition towards a green economy.

“We pride ourselves of the tech which is in this vehicle. It’s actually connected to our different platforms like our whatsapp chatbot platform,Facebook chatbot, and a USSD code where those without smartphones can interact with us using those platforms.

It’s actually one of our aims to align by doing a digital transformation of insurance services. Running away from the traditional ways of doing things”,said Mr Takaza.

Earlier this month, the Zimbabwean government partnered with the United Nations to launch the “Catalyzing Investments into Renewable Energy for the Acceleration of the Attainment of the SDGs in Zimbabwe” project. This project aims to secure resources and investments for renewable energy solutions nationwide. Nicozdiamond’s DIV initiative complements these efforts by promoting sustainability.

Mr. Takaza emphasized that the DIV is authorized by ZINARA to print certificates and endorsed by the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC), the regulatory body.

“We are able to print ZINARA certificates, we are authorized by ZINARA and endorsed by IPEC. So, the strategic ambition is to enhance the customer experience. We have listened to the customers who have requested convenience. Where ever you are be it you are in the township or low density areas, we will get to you”, he said.
