In a move aimed at enhancing the judiciary’s capacity, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed 10 High Court judges and one Administrative Court judge, following a rigorous public interview process conducted by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) last month.
The new High Court judges include Faith Mushure, Ngoni Nduna, Regis Demure, Philipa Phillips, Gibson Mandaza, Joel Mambara, Naison Chivhayo, Vvian Ndlovu, Sijabuliso Siziba, and Mpokiseng Dube. Maxwell Kaitano has been appointed as the new Administrative Court Judge.
The JSC Secretary, Walter Chikwana, confirmed the appointments, stating that the swearing-in ceremony for the 11 judges will take place next Monday, presided over by Chief Justice Luke Malaba.
This development is expected to boost the judiciary’s efficiency and enhance access to justice for Zimbabweans. The new judges bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the bench, and their appointment is seen as a significant step towards strengthening the country’s judicial system.
