President Recognises Exceptional Zimbabweans with Awards

President Emmerson Mnangagwa conferred prestigious awards on deserving individuals and groups for their outstanding contributions to the nation during the recent commemorated national heroes day.
The recipients included Mr. Sirizani Butau, the Imbube group, and 11 national heroes.
In a ceremony held at the Heroes Acre, the President honoured Mr. Sirizani Butau with a Gold Cross for his courageous act of rescuing eight people from a burning bus following a head-on collision in Mutare on December 24, 2021.
The iconic Imbube group, Black Umfolosi, was also honoured with the prestigious Order of the Star of Zimbabwe Bronze Medal for their significant contribution to Zimbabwean music and culture. Their harmonious voices have entertained and inspired generations, making them a beloved national treasure.
Additionally, President Mnangagwa presented National Flags to the family representatives of 11 comrades who were declared National Heroes posthumously. These individuals include Cde Josiah Tongogara, Brigadier General Gibbs Kachana, Cde Amon Jirira, Cde Godwin Manyerenyere, Cde Simon Chingozha Nyandoro, Cde Samuel Guzuzu, Cde Godfrey Dube, Cde Christopher Chatambudza, Cde Arthur Maramba, Cde Chabby Shadreck Sawana Mutendadzamera, and Cde Percy Ntini.
These awards and recognitions serve as a testament to the country’s appreciation for exceptional Zimbabweans who have made a lasting impact on the nation and encourage them to continue with positive contributions.
