Highlanders Fundraising a Roaring Success

The Highlanders Football Club has announced that a fundraising event held at their clubhouse yesterday was a resounding success.

The initiative aimed to raise US$6,000 to cover a fine imposed on the club due to disorderly conduct by fans during the Chibuku Super cup quarter final match against Simba Bora FC on 22 September.

Fans from various chapters of the Highlanders supporters’ association came together to contribute to the cause. The Bulawayo chapter raised a significant portion of the funds through ticket sales and donations, totaling US$5 974.

Additional contributions came from the Victoria Falls chapter who injected US$317, Harare chapter raised US$600, and the South Africa chapter contributed R10,990.

In a press release, the club’s executive treasurer, Israel Moyo, expressed sincere gratitude to the Highlanders supporters for their unwavering commitment and support that they have shown towards the club.
