The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced that the upcoming match between Zimbabwe and Namibia will be held without fans in attendance. This decision stems from a request made by the Namibian Football Association.
The Group J match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier is scheduled for 10 October at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. The venue was chosen as neither Namibia nor Zimbabwe has a CAF-certified stadium suitable for hosting international fixtures.
Warriors will then face Namibia in a return leg on Monday, 14 October, at the same venue, with kickoff set for 6 PM. This match will be open to all fans.
In addition to the empty stands for the opening qualifiers’ game, the Warriors will be without several key players due to injuries. Tawanda Chirewa, Tino Kadewere, and Munashe Garan’anga all missed their club matches over the weekend and will be unavailable for the Zimbabwean national team’s back-to-back qualifiers.
