The Warriors’ head coach, Michael Nees, is urging fans to rally behind the team as they prepare to face Namibia in a crucial match tomorrow at Orlando Stadium in South Africa.

Despite being barred from attending the stadium due to regulations set by the host team, Nees remains optimistic that fans will be permitted entry for future matches, expressing confidence that the players will give their utmost to improve their performance.

” We already mentioned in UGanda that some games will be like that , so the players are aware of that . Of course every footballer , I think even the Namibians ones , they would love to play Infront of the crowd and to be a bit energised by people who are watching and appreciating their ball skills and we take it as it is,

“We have another game on Monday, I’m sure there will be some spectators allowed and I’m sure there’ll be some of them coming, of course football is for entertainment and is for fans , a big unfortunate yes, but it’s their decision, there is nothing we can do,” said Michael Nees.

” I think they really appreciate how we started the campaign especially the second game against Cameroon. It was really very good football match and we just have to continue on that , time is a bit limited for us because we play a game on Thursday,” he added

Also speaking in light of the same match, Warriors’ Captain Marvelous Nakamba said he is thrilled to rejoin the squad after his absence and commended his teammates for their strong performances during that time.

” I am delighted to be back with the national team boys . I’m very happy , I’m excited and the guys are pushing very hard , everyone is pushing each other in the camp , everyone is giving everything to fight for the badge for the country and also for me personally it’s good to be back with the boys,” said Nakamba.

Nakamba also expressed that the team did very well in their last two games , now they are shifting focus on their games against Namibia.

” Of course we always give our best , to try to get positive results in every game . In the last two games , they did very well , they tried their best of course . Now we are looking forward for these upcoming two games , the last two games it’s now water under the bridge,

” We now have to to focus on the next two games against Namibia and back on again on Monday the second one , again against Namibia,” he said .

The Warriors currently sit third in Group J, with 2 points from two draws against Cameroon and Kenya. Kenya and Cameroon are tied for the lead with 4 points each, while Namibia occupies the fourth spot with just 1 point.

The Warriors look to secure their first win in the tournament.
