Jeys Marabini to Celebrate 34 Years in Music with Concert

Renowned musician Majahawodwa Ndlovu popularly known as ‘Jeys Marabini’ will mark 34 years in the industry with a concert titled Friends of Jeys Marabini in Concert on the 19th of October at the Bulawayo Music Academy.
In an interview with Skyz Metro FM, Jeys Marabini expressed the importance of celebrating artists while they are still alive and reflected on his journey in music. The concert will also see the launch of his 11th album, featuring performances by South African jazz icon Steve Dyer, Mbeu, Thandy Dhlana, and Mzoe7.
“We Need to celebrate our achievements as musicians because 34 years in the music industry is not a small thing, to be where l am today it took a lot of had work, perseverance and commitment so I think it deserves to be celebrated. Most of the times as people we tend to celebrate people when they are gone so we decided to this” he said.
“It hasn’t been an easy journey, you know music has a challenge because at times you have to do things alone without sponsors, you have to strive, record, perfom and you need to have all the necessary requirements to make shows without problems or hindrances but otherwise I’m so happy to be where l am thats why we are celebrating, it’s a milestone”, said Jeys Marabini.
The legendary musician also stressed the importance of music in his life and how he sees it.
“I don’t take music lightly because l have traveled and seen the world through music, l am who l am today because of music”
Known for hits like “Ezinangeni,” Marabini credited his success to talent and originality, urging the public to attend in large numbers.
“People should expect an amazing show, we have prepared for it, we are ready and people will enjoy”, said Marabini
A renowned Zimbabwean jazz artist since 1990, he has shared stages with legends such as Hugh Masekela and Salif Keita.
