Bulawayo will celebrate its 81st anniversary as an official city on 3 November 2024, with a commemorative service hosted by the Bulawayo City Council at Entumbane Presbyterian Church.

The service, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., will include Aldermen, councillors, council staff, and members of the public, led by the Mayor’s Chaplain.

This annual Civic Service, traditionally held on the Sunday closest to Bulawayo’s official declaration date of 4 November 1943, brings together the community in reflection and unity.

The event is customarily held at the current Mayor’s church, with this year’s observance taking place at Entumbane Presbyterian Church.

The celebration aims to foster a spirit of togetherness among Bulawayo’s residents and city officials as they honor the city’s rich history and continued growth.
