Byo 15-year-old Takes Own Life After Argument with Mother

Sharazel Angel Dawson, a 15-year-old girl from Riverside suburb in Bulawayo, has died after allegedly ingesting poison, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed.

The tragic incident occurred yesterday at around 17:30 PM, following an argument with her mother over the decision to sell Sharazel’s Acer laptop.

According to police reports, the teenager reportedly threatened to take her own life during the heated exchange.

The situation escalated when Sharazel’s six-year-old cousin saw her drinking an unidentified substance and immediately raised the alarm. Her mother found her in distress and hired a taxi to rush her to Mater Dei Hospital. Despite being admitted upon arrival, Sharazel was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

In a statement, ZRP Acting Assistant Inspector (Press and Public Relations) urged parents to handle family disputes delicately and remain alert to signs of emotional distress in children.
