The government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing affordable and decent housing through collaborations with public, private, and non-governmental sectors, as well as local communities, to ensure progressive housing delivery.

In a post on X, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services revealed plans to leverage innovative technologies to lower construction costs and enhance housing accessibility in partnership with key stakeholders.

Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, Bulawayo Mayor Senator David Coltart stated that the Bulawayo City Council, in collaboration with private developers, is actively working to make affordable and decent housing available to residents.

“We need to plan for the future ,the City has been doing that primarily through the development of housing estates both in high density suburbs and in low density suburbs where we are working with developers and the local authority has been involved in many projects to rectify the situation, ” Coltart said.

By implementing these strategies, the government and its partners aim to deliver sustainable and innovative housing solutions that improve citizens’ quality of life.
