Tendy Three Investments (TTI) has suspended an employee, Muziwakhe Tshabangu, following allegations of bribery. Tshabangu was accused of soliciting a bribe from a patron parked outside a local restaurant.
The incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon when Tshabangu allegedly demanded a US$10 bribe from a patron for an alleged parking violation. This prompted the restaurant owner, Mr. Jabulani Nyoni, to intervene.
“He demanded a bribe from one of our patrons and threatened to have their car towed away. I discovered another patron had also been solicited for a bribe earlier that day,” said Mr. Nyoni.
Mr. Nyoni and other patrons then escorted Tshabangu to the TTI offices to file a formal complaint.
TTI Managing Director, Mr. Bongani Nyathi, confirmed the suspension and emphasized the company’s zero tolerance policy for corruption.
“We have initiated an investigation into this matter. Motorists are encouraged to report any instances of bribery by our employees. TTI will not tolerate such behavior,” stated Mr. Nyathi.
He urged motorists to always request and retain receipts for all transactions with TTI staff.
