Police Release Names of Victims in Fatal Masvingo-Beitbridge Road Accident

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of 22 of the 25 victims who tragically lost their lives, in a devastating accident that occurred on Thursday at the 262-kilometer peg near Lutumba Tollgate on the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road.
The collision claimed the lives of 25 individuals and left many others injured. The ZRP has been working diligently to identify the victims and provide closure to their families.
The identified victims include residents of Beitbridge, Tsitsi Mukaro, Emma Mukaro, Vincent Bvumbe, Petronela Murungweni, Abell Rumbwere, Natasha Tembo, Mutsekwa Josephine, Angela Tembo, and Elton Marima. Victims from Harare, Chitungwiza, Masvingo, and Norton have also been identified, with names to be released pending notification of next of kin.
Currently, 29 injured passengers are receiving treatment at Beitbridge District Hospital, while two others are admitted at Gwanda Provincial Hospital. Thirteen victims with critical injuries were transferred to United Bulawayo Group of Hospitals for specialized care.
The ZRP is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the remaining three victims. Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest police station or reach out through the ZRP’s social media platforms.
