South African author Nthebe Molope will launch his latest book, “King Mzilikazi KaMatshobane,” at the Bulawayo Theatre on 1 April. The event, hosted by uMhlahlo weSizwe sikaMthwakazi, is expected to draw guests from across Southern Africa.
Speaking to SkyzMetro FM in an interview, Molope said that his book explores the shared challenges faced by people in Southern Africa and highlights the enduring cultural legacy of King Mzilikazi.
“I believe this book plays a vital role in promoting Zimbabwean culture and history by highlighting the shared experiences and influences affecting African people across the continent, particularly in Southern Africa,” Molope explained.
“The cultural heritage established by the movement of figures like Mzilikazi and later Lobhengula is absolutely critical. The book will explore this through various examples, showcasing the leadership of that era and how it bound and molded different cultures, languages, and people into a nation that continues to thrive today,” he added.
Molope, who began his writing career in 2018, is the author of four books, including “An Evolutionary Review Of Black Education.” The Book launch, scheduled to take place from 5pm to 9pm, will be free to the public.
In addition to the book launch, Molope’s visit to Bulawayo will include other engagements. Chief Dakamela of Nkayi, a member of the organizing team, has invited Molope as the guest of honor at the Imiklomela ka Dakamela Awards. Molope will also tour Mzilikazi High School during his stay.
