Zimbabwe Under-19s are out of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 after a 74-run defeat to Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club, despite a fighting half-century from captain Simba Mudzengerere.

Chasing 254 yesterday, Zimbabwe’s innings stumbled early, losing five wickets for just 54 runs, a collapse that ultimately cost them a place in the tournament.

Earlier, Bangladesh posted 253 for nine after choosing to bat, built around a steady 59 from captain Azizul Hakim and a crucial 73-run partnership with Rizan Hossain.

Tatenda Chimugoro, Shelton Mazvitovera and Michael Blignaut took two wickets apiece for Zimbabwe.

In reply, Mudzengerere led from the front with a brave 70, sharing a defiant 64-run ninth-wicket stand with Mazvitovera, who finished unbeaten on 42.

Bangladesh bowler Iqbal Hossain Emon claimed five wickets as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 179.
