Zimbabwe international Tawanda Chirewa has completed a six-month loan move from English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers to League One club Barnsley, in a switch aimed at securing more regular first-team football.

Barnsley confirmed the signing, announcing that the 22-year-old winger will remain at Oakwell until the end of the current season.

The club says Chirewa brings top-flight experience, having made ten Premier League appearances for Wolves since joining the club in 2023.

Chirewa made his Premier League debut in January last year, coming on as a second-half substitute in a goalless draw away to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The move is expected to give the young winger more playing time as he continues his development.
