Zimbabwe has signed a five-year cooperation agreement with Russia’s Roscongress Foundation aimed at strengthening trade, investment and business cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by ZimTrade Chief Executive Officer Allan Majuru and Roscongress Foundation Chief Executive Officer Alexander Stuglev during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), creating a formal platform for Zimbabwean companies to participate in SPIEF and other business events organised by the Russian institution.

According to ZimTrade, the partnership is expected to expand opportunities for local businesses by connecting them with potential buyers, investors and strategic partners in Russia and the wider Eurasian market.

Majuru said the agreement would provide Zimbabwean exporters with a platform to showcase products and services from key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, mining and tourism.

He noted that increased engagement through international trade forums could help local companies explore new markets and strengthen existing trade relations.

Under the agreement, ZimTrade and the Roscongress Foundation will work together to facilitate business partnerships between Zimbabwean and Russian companies, with a focus on promoting trade and investment.

The development comes as Zimbabwe continues to pursue export market diversification and attract foreign investment to support economic growth.
