Botswana President His Excellency Duma Boko has commended exhibitors at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026 for showcasing innovation and strengthening regional industrialisation efforts.

Speaking after touring exhibition stands in Bulawayo today, President Boko said he was impressed by the diversity of products and the level of participation from both established companies and emerging entrepreneurs.

He noted that sectors such as agriculture, construction, agro-processing, and leather manufacturing were well represented, alongside growing contributions from young people in technology and artificial intelligence.

President Boko further emphasised the need for the region to accelerate industrialisation by transforming raw materials into finished goods that support economic development.

He added that exhibitions like ZITF reflect a shift from simply consuming knowledge to generating it, with local industries now producing competitive, world-class products.

Meanwhile, the 2026 ZITF has been officially declared open with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Botswana President Boko officiating the opening ceremony.
