Bulawayo Day Celebrations Draw Large Crowds

Bulawayo residents turned out in large numbers on Monday to celebrate Bulawayo Day, with festivities including a parade through the city centre and a cultural event held at City Hall.
The celebrations brought together residents, cultural groups and performers in a showcase of the city’s heritage, history and identity.
Speaking to SkyzMetro Fm, Zoey Luphahla, one of the attendee said the celebrations were both enjoyable and educational, adding that they highlighted the importance of preserving culture, remaining connected to the present and working towards a better future.
The event also provided an opportunity for residents to reflect on Bulawayo’s history and its contribution to the country’s development.
Ashley Siwela, another attendee told SkyzMetro Fm that, it is important to celebrate Bulawayo and recognise its rich heritage,since it has a long history as one of Zimbabwe’s oldest cities.
Siwela noted that Bulawayo, has remained true to its roots and cultural identity throughout its existence.
