Herentals FC’s impressive run of form has been recognised after coach Paul Benza was named the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Coach of the Month for May, while captain Ralph Kawondera claimed the Player of the Month award.

The Students went unbeaten throughout May, collecting 12 points from a possible 18 as they climbed to third position in league’s standings, tied on 28 points with log leaders Hardrock and second placed Scottland FC.

For Kawondera, the latest accolade marks a second consecutive monthly award after also being named Player of the Month for April. The Herentals captain has been one of the standout performers of the 2026 season, leading the league’s scoring charts with nine goals after 15 matchdays.

The experienced forward also scooped two LuckyBets Player of the Match awards twice in May, highlighting his impact in the team.

Kawondera’s consistent goalscoring form has been central to Herentals’ strong campaign, with the versatile attacker emerging as an early contender for the Golden Boot award.

The double recognition highlights Herentals’ growing influence in the title race as the Premier Soccer League season gathers momentum.
