Zimbabwe’s Mighty Warriors got their Zambia Four Nations Tournament campaign off to a winning start after defeating Lesotho 3-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.

The Mighty Warriors opened the scoring in the 30th minute through captain Emmaculate Msipa, who gave Zimbabwe a deserved lead after a strong opening half.

Lesotho responded after the break and found an equaliser, setting up a competitive contest between the two sides.

Zimbabwe, however, showed their quality in the second half. Ethel Chinyerere restored the lead in the 68th minute before Rutendo Makore sealed the victory with a third goal in the 85th minute.

The result ensured a positive start for the Mighty Warriors in the regional tournament as they continue their preparations for upcoming international assignments.
