The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested Ndumiso Sibanda, 23, and Mphumuzi Dube, 24, for the fatal stabbing of Notho Sibanda, 38.

The incident occurred on March 30th at a Pumula South sports bar after an altercation with an unidentified man. Notho intervened but was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by the suspects.

A tip led police to Ndumiso’s girlfriend’s residence on April 2nd. Though he wasn’t there, they apprehended him later. A search of his home yielded clothes worn during the crime and a black Columbian knife.

Ndumiso confessed to the crime, naming Nkanyiso Ndlovu, 29, from Pumula South, as an accomplice. A search for Nkanyiso is underway.

Police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube urged citizens to resolve conflicts peacefully and avoid carrying dangerous weapons.
