Zim records an increase in exports

Zimbabwe recorded a 37% increase in the number of exports during the January and February trading window while imports rose by 12% during the same period.

Exports to the UAE increased by 17%, while exports to China surged by 202% to US$264 million in 2024. Exports to Mozambique grew by 123.7% while exports to neighboring countries Zambia also rose by 60.4%.

Processed food exports increased by over 270% while sugar exports rose to US$22.3 million from US$6.6 million.

Agricultural inputs and implements exports increased by 50% while livestock and animal products exports increased by 164% with minerals and alloy exports rising by 6%.

Meanwhile, exports to South Africa decreased by 6.6% with exports of building materials dropping by 10%. Exports of chemicals declined by 70% while exports of household furniture and electrical appliances also declined.
