In an impressive display of speed and agility, two Zimbabwean sprinters, Makanakaishe Charamba and Tapiwanashe Makarawu, secured second-place finishes in their respective 200-meter races at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Charamba clocked a time of 20:27 seconds in Heat 3, narrowly behind Botswana’s Tebogo Letsile, to qualify for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Makarawu achieved a time of 20:07 seconds in Heat 5, also securing a second-place finish and a spot in the next round.

The semi-finals are set to take place in the coming days, where Charamba and Makarawu will face stiff competition from top athletes around the globe.

However, their impressive showings in the heats have already marked a significant milestone for Zimbabwean athletics.
