Mpopoma Sports Academy Sets Record in 34-0 Rout Against New Orleans

Mpopoma Sports Academy created history in the Women’s Southern Region Soccer League by thrashing New Orleans 34-0, over the weekend.

The match saw former Mighty Warriors star Nobuhle Majika scoring seven goals, while Naledi Mpofu, on loan from Highlanders Royals, netted an impressive nine goals.

Additional contributors included Vanessa Magodo with four goals, Nozipho Khumalo and Arimon Leonah with hat-tricks each, Nomqhele Donga, Talent Nyoni, and Chelsea Matongi bagged braces in the game. This resounding win solidifies Mpopoma Sports Academy’s top spot in the league with 31 points with six games remaining.

Meanwhile, LOXION Vipers FC, also competing in the Women’s Southern Region League, occupies second place with 31 points, tied with Mpopoma Sports Academy. LOXION Vipers FC dominated their match against Queen Lozikeyi, winning 18-0.

Notably, 12-year-old Praise Neshiri, a Grade 7 student from Malindela Primary School, impressed with a quartet of goals. The thrilling title race between LOXION Vipers FC and Mpopoma Sports Academy intensifies, with the two teams now separated solely by goal difference
