Young Warriors held by Botswana in Cosafa Cup Opener

The Zimbabwe Under 20 national team were held to a 1-1 draw by Botswana in their opening match of the CAF Under-20 AFCON COSAFA Qualifiers today (yesterday).

Bikita Minerals midfielder Enoch Moyo, gave Zimbabwe the lead in the 30th minute with a well-struck half-volley from inside the box.

However, Botswana equalized in the 75th minute, taking advantage of Zimbabwe’s numerical disadvantage after defender Mvelo Khoza suffered an injury.

Both teams had opportunities to win the match in the closing stages, but neither could find the net. The draw leaves both Zimbabwe and Botswana with one point each in the group stage.
