65-Year-Old Byo Man Rapes 10-Year-Old During ‘Extra Lessons’

A 65-year-old Bulawayo man appeared in Western Commonage Magistrate’s Court, facing rape charges involving a 10-year-old girl. The accused allegedly used “extra lessons” as a ruse to commit the crime.

According to the National Procecuting Authority of Zimbabwe on the 27th of September 2024, at around 3:00 PM, the man is said to have summoned the children to his sitting room for extra lessons, assigning writing tasks.

He then isolated the 10-year-old, asking her to retrieve books from his bedroom. Once inside, he allegedly closed the door, instructed her to search for books, and subjected her to a traumatic ordeal, including undressing and raping her twice.

The accused further exploited the child by taking naked photographs. The victim confided in her mother, who promptly reported the incident to authorities, leading to the accused’s arrest and remand until October 16.
