Permanent Secretary Urges Ministry Officials to Embrace Innovation, Aim Beyond Mandate

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, has urged ministry officials to pursue innovation and broaden their achievements beyond the ministry’s current mandate.

Mangwana made the remarks yesterday during the Ministry’s Strategic Planning Review Workshop,in Masvingo.

Addressing officials at the workshop, Mangwana emphasized the importance of a forward-thinking approach to enhance the ministry’s impact in line with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030. The workshop, a platform to assess accomplishments and set future goals, aligns with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and is focused on strengthening the ministry’s role in public engagement.

Highlighting the ministry’s mission to improve information dissemination, Mangwana stressed the need to re-engineer approaches and facilitate a two-way communication strategy for more effective public engagement.

Citing that the Strategic Planning Review Workshop highlights the ministry’s commitment to fostering a more dynamic approach to information and broadcasting services, aiming to connect with citizens and promote government programs across the country.

This call to action reflects a broader push within the ministry to refine its strategies in response to an evolving media landscape, with a focus on leveraging new communication channels to ensure timely, transparent, and accessible information to all Zimbabweans.
