President Mnangagwa Congratulates Mauritius’ New Prime Minister, Dr. Navin Ramgoolam

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has congratulated Dr. Navin Ramgoolam on his recent election as Prime Minister of Mauritius.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the president praised the peaceful and transparent electoral process in Mauritius, noting it as a commendable example of democratic values in the region.

On behalf of Zimbabwe and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Mnangagwa expressed confidence in Ramgoolam’s leadership, hoping it would contribute positively to the SADC region. He highlighted potential areas for Zimbabwe and Mauritius to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new avenues of cooperation.

“On behalf of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Government and people of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and on my behalf, I wish to warmly congratulate you and your Party, my Dear Brother and Colleague, on your landslide victory in the just-ended elections and on your assumption of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius,” said the president.

The message also emphasized Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional stability and Mnangagwa’s optimism about the opportunities this leadership change could bring for both nations.

“I have no doubt that under your wise and tested leadership, the Republic of Mauritius will continue to rise to greater heights and will resume its critical role in our Region. Your successful election undoubtedly presents new opportunities for the excellent and ever-burgeoning bilateral relations between our two sister Republics and peoples,” he added.
