Bulawayo City Council Mourns the Passing of Councillor Daisy Velile Mpofu

The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) is grieving the death of Councillor Daisy Velile Mpofu, a Proportional Representation Councillor under the Women’s Quota, who passed away on Monday after a short illness. She was 65.
In a statement, the BCC acknowledged Councillor Mpofu’s contributions to the city during her tenure. She was sworn into office on April 17, 2024, and served diligently as a member of the Audit and Future Water Supplies and Water Action Committees. Her death has sent shockwaves through the council and the community.
The Mayor of Bulawayo, Senator David Coltart, together with Councillors, Town Clerk Christopher Dube, Heads of Council Departments, staff, and the residents of Bulawayo, have extended heartfelt condolences to the Mpofu family.
Details of her burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
