Mnangagwa Dismisses Third-Term Speculation

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has reaffirmed that he will not seek to extend his term in office, stating that Zimbabweans will elect a new leader after his tenure ends.

Speaking at the State House during a meeting with media editors, Mnangagwa emphasized his commitment to the constitution and the democratic process.

” I have two terms and these terms are very definate and I am so democratic, when they come to an end I will step aside and my party will elect my successor. Those who have imaginations it is a democratic right for people to dream but facts will take lead. When my two terms come to an end the country and the party will move on by electing my successor,” said President Mnangagwa

His remarks follow ongoing speculation about a possible third-term bid, which he dismissed, reiterating that he is a constitutional man.

President further highlighted that he is pleased on how the country is tackling economic challenges and how people are embracing the season good raifalls.

” As a country we would have wanted to be better than what we are, but challenges continue to face every single economy not only for Zimbabwe but the entire region or perhaps the continent. But I am happy that as Zimbabwe we are rising up with the challenges and we are doing our best to mange our economy and challenges facing it ,

“Fortunately recently we had good rains and our economy is basically Agricultural and having a good season is a huge importance with regards to a positive projectory with the growth of our economy And I am happy that our people are embracing this good season that we are having,” he said
